There is a common mistake that many bloggers do when there are building their traffic. The mistake is driving untargeted traffic to their blogs. This will not give you readers, just visitors. Visitors are differing from readers. If you are a shop owner, visitors are just people who just passing by but readers are people who go into your shop and look at your products.

This is an effective way to drive traffic. You may ask your visitors to subscribe your blog, join as your twitter follower, leave comment and whatever relevant style you like. Then, you may ask your current readers to blog about your contest and the person with the best post will be the winner. By doing this, more people will go to your blog after reading your readers' post, and they will subscribe your blog and so on.

2. Quality Content
Content is always the king. It determines whether your visitors will become your readers. So do not ever leave your visitors at the gate! Let them come in by posting quality and impressive content on your blog. You may find some ideas by reading articles at article directories or some Gurus' blogs.

3. Article Marketing
This is the oldest way to drive traffic but it is still very good and effective. If you have the ability to write, you may write articles and submit them to article directories. Remember to put your link at your resources box.

It’s important to build our reputation online and to develop a stronger online reputation, we need to put in some effort and there are some helpful characteristics that might help us.

1. Participation levels - Actively participate at social sites such as StumbleUpon or Digg is a good way to increase your visibility and develop your brand recognition. You can maintain high submission volume so that your profile to become more familiar to other users and broad visibility will give you lots of opportunities for networking, which helps you along the way. 4. Conversation - Keep in mind that conversation is a big part of social media. Communicate with others and you’ll learn new things. Conversation also an integral part of building relationship and make new friends. It will help to enrich your social media experience and always make it easy for others to contact you.

5. Value leads to trust - You should provide value in order to build a successful brand through social media. By providing value, you earn trust and your attention and brand grows. It then leads to greater benefits in the future in terms of traffic, reputation or connections.

Let us see how we can write a great article. An article has four key elements.

1. Title

3. Content
4. Conclusion

These are the basics which you need to know when you want to start writing an article. These are the main elements which you cannot miss up. Every part has its function and they may bring different effect for you.

1. Title
Obviously, title is very important. Your titles will determine whether your visitors will read your articles or not. Learn how to write a killer title is very important. There are many kinds of title (headline) which you can use if you have no idea on writing an eye-catching title.

• "How-to" headline. Example: How to Make Money Blogging
  Instead of "Make Money Blogging", you add "How to" in front of the title and it look more attractive, right?
• Problem Based Headline. Example: Why many Bloggers Fail to Make Money Blogging?
  By doing this, visitors who interested or curious will read the article. Don't you think this is a good way?

2. Introduction
Introduction is the further explain of your headline or title. You should make your introduction impressive because some readers will stop reading if your introduction cannot impress them. In the introduction, you can give some basic information about the problem which you want to talk about, or some related information which you think your readers will need to know before they continue reading.

3. Content
This is the king. Your content will determine whether you can make sales or attract readers back to your blog. You should have great content to attract more traffic and sales. So what makes a great content?

For a beginner, I will recommend you to write like this article. When you want to write an article, make sure you already gave the points. Then, make your points into point form, then elaborate with one or two short paragraph. Make sure your elaboration is quality. If possible, show some proof to increase your credibility.

If you think your points are not so quality or not so good enough, you can always find some ideas from other Gurus' blogs, article directories and forums. Every time I have no idea what to write, I will visit forums and find some hot topics and see what other people are saying. After that, make that you idea and write in your own words.

4. Conclusion
How to make a conclusion? You may comment about the points and tips which you give above to end your articles. Keep this short and brief. Sometime, you can end your articles with some product recommendation but bear in mind, do not write a long paragraph for that. Besides, you may create another short paragraph for you blog post, which ask your readers to follow or subscribe your blog and so on.

5. Resources Box / Author Bio
If you are writing articles which will be submitted to article directories, this is the most important part. If your article has sustained the reader to the end, he or she would most likely want to get more information or wish to know more about the author. Put your relevant blog links so that you stand a good chance of someone clicking and visiting your website. It is a free advertising =)
